As a teacher and choreographer, Sierra believes in the responsibility of creating a safe and positive environment for her students. She always wants her students to feel comfortable in her studio and have the safe space to make mistakes and improve their technique and artistry. It is important to her that every student feels welcome in her studio no matter age, gender, ethnicity, or experience. Sierra has always loved creating stories and expressing emotions through movement and has continued to share this with audiences through her choreography. She hopes to continue to inspire, share her experience, and love of dance with the next generation of dancers.
In September of 2024, Sierra began teaching at the Academy of Ballet Wauconda in Wauconda, Illinois. Sierra taught several styles of dance including Intermediate and Advanced Musical Theater, Intermediate and Advanced Tap, and Advanced Contemporary. She was also a regular substitute teacher in Ballet, Jazz, Tumbling, and Hip Hop. Along with teaching, Sierra had the opportunity to not only run Nutcracker and competition rehearsals but also choreograph several recital and competition pieces for the studio. She is thankful to all of the teachers and owners, Melissa and Sean Hayden, for their support and guidance during her first year of teaching.
